It really doesn't feel like Wednesday to me. Even though I can easily lose track of what day it is with all the travel and the lack of routine, something about a long holiday weekend always throws me off! Last week I felt like I was running on fumes, so having an extra day to relax and truly rest really encouraged my soul. Being home for over a week has been really wonderful, and it's given me so much to be thankful for. Just when I think I am so tired I can't even imagine having to repack the suitcases, God fills my heart with encouragement and gives me a chance to rest.
We head out again tomorrow, and I can't wait to be back on the road! The only thing bumming me out now is the fact that my sweet little niece didn't want to come join us in the world a little early (that, and the giant pile of laundry waiting to be finished!). Ah well, babies do tend to come when, and only when, they are ready! :) Here are my good things for the week:
Dessert. Lots of house guests. Spontaneous kisses from Lorelei. Shopping a great sale. Having family that lives in town. A Lord of the Rings marathon with husband (he's never seen the movies!). Bright purple nails. Cold watermelon. Getting the super nice customer service rep I was secretly hoping for the whole time standing in line. Our favorite Mexican restaurant downtown. Honey flavored Greek yogurt. The satisfaction of deep cleaning the inside of our car. My sweet husband who spent one of his only days off doing house/yard work. Enjoying a Sunday morning in the congregation instead of on the stage. Co-writing with new (ultra talented) writers. All the ways Lorelei makes us giggle throughout the day as she plays, tries new words, and sings her favorite songs.

I'd love for you to share your good things here in the comments, or tweet me some with the hashtag #goodthings (tweet is totally a verb, right?).
home made custard. worship practice. sunny days by the farm. strawberries from the garden. new job. surprise get together with friends. french press. remembering why running is fun. being barefoot in the grass.
ReplyDeleteI hope some day I think running is fun. Right now it's something I am trying to get my body to do at all :) Also, french press sounds delightful right now!
DeleteI got stuck on the incredulous idea that Jordan has/had NEVER seen the Lord of the Rings Trilogy?!? Has that marathon happened yet? 9 hours of regular editions or 12 hours of extended editions? I LOVE the deep cleaning of the inside of the car reference, a very necessary and satisfactory "good thing" for sure!
ReplyDeleteKevin, we've watched the first two (regular, not extended) but it's been hard to find time for number three! We may have to watch it in installments, although I know it will be more fun all at once! Here's hoping we get a movie night in soon! :)
