good things

The last week has been so full of good things for me and for our family. It's also been a week where the message of the gospel has been a heavy weight on my heart as I think about the brokenness in our world and in our culture. When bad things happen to friends of mine who have a relationship with Christ, I am encouraged to know that their sorrow is countered by the joy of Christ inside of them. However, when bad things happen to friends that don't have a relationship with Christ, my heart absolutely breaks for the pain they feel. I have so many amazing people in my life, Christians and non-Christians, and my deepest desire is that every one of us would enter into a fulfilling and intimate relationship with the God who created us and so deeply loves us. Lots of prayers in my heart and mind right now, and with that, let's get to this week's good things!

Having a blast at the not-so-secret video shoot last week. How therapeutic it is to write songs. Seeing Lorelei form relationships with her extended family, and seeing how much they love to love on her. Jordan's amazing driving skills to get us through several hours of terrible storm conditions on the road! Trader Joe's. Dark chocolate covered almonds with sea salt (yum). Having sisters (through marriage) to go through life with. Cheap, cute sunglasses. Witnessing moments of God's unfailing faithfulness, even when we are faithless. Free coffee samples while grocery shopping. My health, and the health of my husband and child. Cheesy pop music.

As always, I'd love for you to share your own list of good things here and tweet me some of your favorites with the hashtag #goodthings! Have an amazing Wednesday!

  1. oh what a sweet post. i hear you about the difference between the friends who know Christ and those who don't in their time of pain. there often feels as if there is an awkward division between the two.

aside from that, i love your good things list. sometimes when i'm not sure what to blog about or my heart is just so overwhelmed i do what i call a happy list! so refreshing and great to reflect on all the "good things" in life!

thanks for sharing. have a great day jessa!

    1. Thanks so much Allie! I know a lot of people do their own version of "good things" and it's so fun to celebrate life's joys with one another!
